What’s the Benefit of Automatic Propane Delivery?

Prevent an Empty Tank and the Hassle of Emergency Service!

automatic fuel delivery pennsylvaniaPoore’s Propane customers who are enrolled in Automatic Delivery for their heating oil or propane love the service because it’s easy, convenient, and worry-free!

…But how does it work?

We utilize state-of-the-art software to track your fuel usage patterns alongside the real-time weather conditions, which more accurately predicts when you’ll need a delivery of propane or heating oil. If our calculations indicate your tank is at 25% full or less, we’ll promptly schedule a delivery, so you won’t run out.

However, if you still use “Will-Call” service—meaning you call in every one of your deliveries—you need to be aware of how much propane or heating oil is left in your tank so that you know when to contact us to request a delivery.

How to Read Your Tank Gauges

Here’s how to ready a heating oil tank gauge:

  • On top of your heating oil tank, look for the transparent plastic tube with markings on it that resemble car fuel gauge numbers: F, ¾, ½, and so on. There is a red marker or a float inside the tube that informs you how much heating oil is in the tank.
  • We urge you to not allow your tank level drop below 25% before requesting a delivery! If the marker or float is at the bottom of the tube, you are very low on or out of heating oil.

If you use propane:

  • Look on your propane tank for a dial that resembles the speedometer on a car. The numbers on that dial show how full your propane tank is. If the needle is resting at 40, your propane tank is 40% full.
  • Don’t allow your tank level drop below 30% before contacting us to arrange a propane delivery if you use Will-Call delivery!

Why is a Fuel Runout Such a Hassle?

If your propane supply runs out, you will be faced with a lot of inconvenience and expense. Your home’s gas system must be thoroughly examined by a professional service technician like the ones at Poore’s after the emergency propane delivery. A leak test, a pressure test, an inspection of your propane tank and appliances, and a professional re-lighting of all the propane appliance pilots are included in the safety check, however, you’re responsible for all costs involved with emergency propane delivery as well as the safety check.

If you run out of propane or heating oil, the first thing you should do is contact Poore’s Propane right away for an emergency delivery. Please do NOT email or contact us through the website. Call us any time of day or night.

Remember—You won’t have to worry about any of this hassle or expense with Automatic Delivery! You’re free of the burden of keeping track of your heating oil or propane supply.

Don’t spend another heating season with the hassle and stress of Will-Call service. Contact Poore’s Propane today to enroll in Automatic Delivery—it only takes five minutes to complete!
